I Want Immunity!

I'm sick...again. Seriously though, my immune system must not exist. I've heard that stress can cause your immune system to weaken and I guess I've had my fair share of stress over the last few years and am feeling especially stressed right now, but there's only so much sickness a girl can handle! I've even been taking vitamins lately! I feel like it's either one thing or the other. And right now, it's the body aches and sore throat. It sucks because being sick is only causing me to stress more!! I cannot miss school(tests, presentations, and papers), so I am missing work which leads to less money, which is a huge stressor right now in my life. It's so frustrating. I need a freakin' break!

Travels

I've been feeling like I'm in need of a vacation lately. Unfortunately, I don't have the time, nor the money. So I'm stuck looking through pictures of vacations from the past. Some which I have mentioned I would dedicate posts to and never have. So while these pictures aren't exactly what I promised, at least it's something right?

Key West
(I realize the trip I took back there was 2 years ago but oh well.) I'll admit it. Sometimes I creep on the current Del Sol girls Facebook pictures and it makes me miss Key West a lot. I wish I could go back and do it again and make sure I didn't miss out on anything. Truthfully, I think it comes down to me needing to live in a sunny place near a beach. Yeah, that's it.

Love this place. I did post about the trip so I won't say much but I definitely hope this wasn't my last time there. I'll make sure of it actually.

I had a great time in NYC. I absolutely love that city and would love to be able to make this trip a yearly thing. We crammed a lot into a few days but it was so worth it.

Yankees vs. Red Sox game.

For those of you who know me, baseball is not my favorite sport. If I'm forced to go to a game, I like to show up at about the 5th inning. THIS GAME WENT 15 INNINGS LONG PEOPLE. But I'll be honest, I loved it. It was a lot of fun being there for this game between these huge rivals. I cheered for the Yankees and I fell in love with Johnny Damon. And I'm a fan now and totally cheered them on to win the World Series. :)

On our last day there I had a couple hours by myself in the city because my flight left later than everyone elses. I spent the day in Central Park. The difference between Central Park at 6:00 am and 3:00 on a sunny afternoon? Oh, just about a million people. I loved Central Park. Absolutely loved it. All around it was just an awesome time and that city is amazing!

Changes

I'm fascinated by murder and crime. I just am. Not in the way that I want to do it, obviously. But I love watching TV shows that are all about that sort of stuff. Especially if it's based on a true story. I will always jump on the internet immediately after watching something like that and look up more details on the story. I recently watched a movie with Tupac in it and while the movie wasn't about him or anything like that, I became extremely fascinated with him and his life. And especially his murder. So I've added all these documentaries about him to my Netflix queue and have been reading up on him on the internet. He was an interesting person, that's for sure. And it's sad that his life was cut short. Anyway, I don't really have a point to this post but I think that his song "Changes" is probably one of my favorite songs. I can listen to it over and over again. Take a listen if you wish.

Childhood Dreams

So as you all know, I'm a big Jazz fan. I've been a fan my whole life. It's in my blood. I have specific memories of watching certain games when I was younger and have many memories throughout my years that involve the Jazz.

Of course I loved John and Karl. But my absolute favorite Jazz player growing up was Bryon Russell. I had a HUGE crush on him starting when I was really young. I thought he was soooo hot (and he was). When I started Jr. Jazz, I wore number 3 just because that was Bryon's number. I used to cut out newspaper pictures of him and save them in a little box. It was like my first celebrity crush! It was always a dream of mine to meet him. Well tonight, a good 15 years later, that dream finally came true!!

B-Russ was in town after he called out Michael Jordan to play him 1-on-1. I pretty much figured MJ wouldn't show up but knew Bryon was coming. His twitter told me so. :) There was no way I was going to miss this! Not even this deathly illness I've had for the past week could keep me from going. So I loaded up on the Lortab(bless this pill) and headed over to the Flash game. When I saw Bryon from a distance and it was like the 11 year old girl that cheered for him all those years ago just came right out! I was pretty much giddy.

After the lame halftime show of them trying to fake everyone out with a MJ impersonator was over, he didn't come back out to his seat and I got so sad! Finally, he came back and Mele and I immediately moved closer so we could get a picture. During the 4th quarter he left and got stuck in the tunnel signing autographs for the kids (who probably weren't even alive to know who he was!). After the game we lingered to see if he'd come out and he didn't. Finally we walked over there and he was gone! We were both so disappointed. But I knew there was still a chance. I walked right into that tunnel like I belonged and there we came upon High Flyin' Bryon himself! We walked up to him and asked for a picture and told him we'd loved him since we were five. He was so nice! And seriously still looks so gooood. :) I even tweeted about meeting him and he tweeted back! haha. I think he loved me. Let this be a lesson to never give up on your childhood dreams. ;)

Douche Baggery

I have just got to get something off my chest.

If I ever saw Levi Johnston live and in person, there is no doubt in my mind that I would "junk punch him all up in his man business. And then he would fall to the ground whaling and crying and saying "Whyyyy?". And then I'd look at him and say, "YOU KNOW WHY!'" (Okay, someone name the quote.)

But seriously, he most definitely deserves to be junk punched. Who does this guy think he is anyway?

What has he done to deserve any sort of attention? Knocked up his girlfriend. That's it. That's the only reason he was ever talked about to begin with. Well congrats, ya douche bag. Now go away.

But go away he has not. He is milking this attention for all it's worth. Let me tell you something, Mr. Johnston. Nobody cares who you are. You are a nobody. You are not hot. Posing for Playgirl is not something to be proud of. Do you realize that straight girls don't even look at Playgirl? You're basically showing your goodies (which lets be honest, I doubt anyone really wants to see) for a bunch of gay guys. Seriously, shut up already. If anyone really cares what you think about the Palin's, well then they need to get a life. And it's not like I have any special love for them. But it's pretty apparent that you're basically talking crap about them just for attention. And it's getting old. And if I have to see your ugly face one more time on any sort of entertainment blog, news site, tv channel, etc., I think I may puke.

Oh Hey...

Yeah, so I never blog these days. But here's another brain dump...

• I realize my trip to NYC was over 2 months ago. Let me just say this, I had an AMAZING time. I'm obsessed with that place and would move there in a heartbeat if I could ever afford it. One day I will. I'll post about it soon (hopefully?). In the meantime, checkout Tawny's post about our trip.

• Kelli gets married on Friday. So weird! But I'm so excited for her! She is going to be a beautiful bride and the wedding will be gorgeous! Speaking of, I just got back from her bachelorette party. In other words, I just gave my younger sister some hot lingerie and lube. That just ain't right, people. haha. But no, it's going to be an amazing day and I can't wait!

• This past week I went and saw Paranormal Activity. Hands down, scariest movie I've ever seen. And I'm not one to really get scared by movies. I mean, yeah, during the movies I usually curse myself for being there because it causes me intense anxiety waiting for the next thing to pop out at me but I have never been affected by a movie after the fact. But the night we saw Paranormal Activity, Mele and I had to actually share a bed because we were too scared to sleep alone. No random noise in the house will ever be the same again. And that's serious.

• Sometimes people make fun of me because I'm on Twitter, but it has certainly been good to me! This last week we got free Jazz tickets just because we follow the Jazz on there! It was awesome. It was just a pre-season game so there wasn't a ton of people at the game and we totally sat on the 4th row! And, get this, Deron Williams totally waved at us! haha. So what if we yelled at him like a bunch of fan girls? Getting a wave from him was still awesome. :)

• So lately I've been wanting to delete some friends on Facebook. They're actually people I would probably never delete but some of the things they post just makes me want to immediately click the "Remove from friends" button. Not like the stuff is inappropriate or anything because let's be serious, people would probably delete me from their friends for that before I'd would. It's more just stuff I don't ever want to see. And it's just so tempting to click that one button when it's right there!

• Right now it's football season and I'm loving it. But it's the perfect time of year because basketball season is starting up too! BYU football has been sort of a let down this year besides the big win over Oklahoma but I'm looking forward to the college basketball season. And especially for the Jazz. This time though, I'm trying to uninvest myself emotionally before the season starts so I don't get disappointed as easily. Yeah, right. We'll see how that goes!

• I want to take a trip somewhere sunny. Anyone got any good ideas? Whether it be a cruise, back to Key West for a visit, or hell, why not Hawaii? I just want to go on a fun vacation where I can just relax by the beach for a week straight! So I've decided to start putting some money away and saving up. Starting next paycheck... :)

• Last thing...

2 more days until my trip. I really am so excited!! If I can somehow swindle a way into staying there you can bet I'll try. Maybe I'll find some rich Sugar Daddy while I'm out there. ;) If you want some live updates you can follow my Twitter account as I'm sure I'll be tweeting and "twitpic"-ing the whole time. Just try not to get jealous...

I'm Alive

So, I realize it's been a while but you can probably tell by the lack of posts how busy I've been and how much I need to catch up on.... NOT!

More like that's how boring my life has been lately. Yep, this summer has really not been that exciting. Here's a short update though.

• My sister got engaged!! So what if she's only 19, right? That's normal around here! ;) She's going to marry Robbie, who we love, so we're very happy for them. She found a BEAUTIFUL wedding dress last night. Can't wait for the big day.
  

• I will be leaving for here next Wednesday: Yep, I'll be NYC bound with my favorite traveling buddy Tawny! We certainly love our spontaneous trips.

• Tawny e-mailed me a list of things we're going to do while we're there and I keep reading it because I'm so excited! I'm most excited for Central Park(I didn't quite make it there the last time), Broadway shows, and the Yankees/Red Sox game. Well, more like everything.
  

• Which brings me to my next point-- I'm torn on what to wear to the big game! I'm not a huge baseball fan but I love a good rivalry. Tawny is a HUGE Yankees fan but I sorta feel like I should rep the brother who's out in Boston and wear some Red Sox gear. I'm kinda scared though...mostly of Tawny. We'll see. I'm sure I'll be back with a post with LOTS of pictures! :)

• Speaking of Tyler, I miss him! He's doing great out in Boston though and I know he's an awesome missionary.

• My roommates and I found a townhouse in South Provo that I can't wait to move in to. Mostly because I'm sick of my current disgusting apartment. I keep finding bugs in my room and it's grossing me out! It'll be so nice to be somewhere that is actually nice and it's only like 1 minute away from work. So that'll be really convenient.
  

Honestly, that's about all I got right now. Told ya, life isn't too exciting right now. But at least I've got next week to look forward to!

Trip to D.C.

As some of you may know, in March I flew back East and got to visit our Nation's Capital and hang out with my cousins. I had an absolute blast. It was exactly what I needed. Tawny came along and we got to re-live a lot of the memories we created together when we went our Sophomore year of high school with Mr. Miner.

I know I could go into detail about a lot of what we did and I do have a ton of pictures from the trip but mostly, I don't feel like boring you with minor details. Although, I'm not so sure it would be boring, as all my trips are awesome. I'll try and make it as painless as possible for you though. :)

Tawny and I arrived in D.C. at 7:30 am. We then had to take a shuttle to our hotel in Oxon Hill, Maryland. We arrived there safely and found our hotel(which we were only staying in for one night). We were extremely tired and ugly(at least I was -- bangs do NOT travel well) but didn't want to waste any time. We took a quick power nap and headed for the city.

From our hotel, we had to take a bus to the metro station. Neither of us had ever taken the bus before. As in the bus provided for public transportation. We were in for quite the adventure. Little did we realize when we booked our hotel in Oxon Hill that we would be the only white people for like a mile. That's probably a lie, but you get my drift. If you know me at all, you'll know that I didn't mind that one bit! ;) But it did result in a lot of stares when we boarded the bus from well, basically everyone.

That first day was beautiful and we went to all the Smithsonian Museums. Seriously, I loved them. All of them. I know which one was Tawny's favorite and that was the American Indian museum. We tried to figure out what tribe she is from but didn't have much success.

This is a picture of me at the notorious Wok 'N Roll in Chinatown. When we went to DC in high school we ate at this place and decided to try and find it this time when we went back. It was fun to re-live some of the memories we had from our first trip.

It felt like we walked for miles and miles. By the end of the trip, my feet were numb. We walked up and down the National Mall, multiple times. We visited all the monuments and memorials. They're all so beautiful. I loved seeing the WWII Memorial (you can see it at the end of the reflection pool behind our heads). It was under construction the first time we went so it was fun to see it all complete.

We spent one day in Georgetown and I loved it! It's probably my new favorite place. The building above is on campus at the University. Isn't it so beautiful? Who wouldn't love to go to school in that.

There was a lot of great shopping there and Tawny and I did a lot more walking. But it was worth it. There was a canal that we walked up and down with beautiful houses and buildings lining it.

I fell in love with all the colorful houses in the town. They're so fun!

One thing we really loved when we went in high school was Mt. Vernon. We decided that we wanted to check it out again. We hopped in the car with the trustworthy GPS system (a HUGE thanks to my aunt and uncle for this. It was a life saver!!) and headed off in the direction we thought was Mt. Vernon. We were wrong. The GPS system wasn't, we were. We didn't have an exact address so we stupidly thought we could type in a general one and we got completely lost. We ended up in Middleburg, VA. The drive was actually really, really beautiful so we didn't really mind the detour.

We finally made it to Mt. Vernon and it was even better than I remembered. We walked the grounds of George Washington's home and it was gorgeous. It's pretty amazing to walk where so much history has taken place.

We really wanted to be able to visit the Washington, D.C. temple. I wasn't sure we would have time but luckily on Sunday after church (where Tawny bravely wore her jeans), we were able to go walk around the temple grounds. It's my favorite temple and I was so glad we made it there. It is so beautiful!

Washington, D.C. is probably one of my favorite cities. It was such an awesome trip. I only wish there would have been more time to spend with my cousins and aunt and uncle. They were so great and accommodating and we really appreciated that! We did get to drive down through Virginia with them to their home in Chesapeake which was fun. I actually really enjoyed the drive. The country out there is so beautiful and if I ended up out there, I think I'd really love it. There are so many trees and I love that! I can't wait to go back.

Hey Boston, GET READY!

Many of you know that my "little" brother, Tyler, is leaving on his mission this week for Boston, Massachusetts. I am so excited for him. He is going to be an INCREDIBLE missionary. I say "little" because he passed me in height by almost a foot a good 5 years ago.

Ty and Kelli when they were babies. I love them more now than I did then...One time I poked them with forks!! :)

This would be more how I know them now. Us Davies have a great skill -- we can win any Ugliest Face Contest.

Ty and I have always gotten along pretty great. We've always had a common interest in sports. I'll miss being able to text him during or after a game!!

Crazy kid cut himself a mohawk a little while back. I secretly loved it. Haha. Tyler has always had the greatest sense of humor!

Just look how cute he is! One day some girl is going to be very, very lucky!

Tyler, I love you and am going to miss you so much! I don't think it's hit me yet and I'm not looking forward to Wednesday at the MTC. The people of Boston better get ready. Especially The Big 3! :) You're gonna be great!!

Is it Summer Yet?

Summer is just around the corner and I'm getting excited. Here are some things that would make me happy this summer:

• A trip to Disneyland
• A bike. Preferably a Beach Cruiser that I can take on leisurely bike rides whenever I get bored, which in Provo, is often. I like this one:

• A trip to the beach. Or multiple trips. This can be combined with my trip to Disneyland. I'm flexible like that.
• Lots of sunny days
• Tubing down the Provo River. This time with a film crew following to catch all the amazingness that goes on.
• To catch up/re-watch some great TV shows such as Felicity, LOST, ER, etc.
  
• NEW CLOTHES
• A hot, rich boy to keep me company. ;)
• Easy access to a pool
  
• Lots of trips to the movies
• A nice tan
• Weekend vacations away from Provo

Cougartown

Last Saturday Mele, Brooke, and I woke up bright and early (actually it was still dark) at 6:00 AM and joined all the ZOOBS who'd been camping out for the BYU/Utah basketball game that started at 3. Some people had been camping there since Monday and although we love our Cougs, I much prefer the comfort of my own bed.

We brought tons of blankets, sleeping bags, a propane heater, and I literally had 7 layers of clothing on. It was freezing!

We were all going on 2 hours of sleep so we tried to get as much rest as we could (none) while we waited.

Later some more friends joined us. Conveniently just in time to go into the game...(I'm still waiting for my present that you all owe me). The game was awesome and luckily BYU came out on top so all the waiting was worth it!
