"You don't have any style. You're still stuck in your high school mode."

That is what my sister just said to me about the way that I dress. She said that I still wear simple clothes, just like I did when I was in high school and that the style is changing. I told her I don't like to look homeless or like I'm trying too hard which is what I think a lot of people look like these days. I told her that it is the people who wear all the trendy clothes that I, in fact, think look like they are stuck in high school. But that is just my opinion. Funny thing is, I wear a lot of my sister's clothes.

I know that I don't have the greatest clothes or that I don't have the best style. In fact, everyday I dread having to get dressed because I hate most of the clothes that I own. But I also don't think that I am someone you look at and say, "She has no style." I think that for the most part I am good at realizing what I don't look good in and so I don't wear those clothes, even if they are what is cool and hip right now. I'd rather not look pregnant or obese, thank you. I can recognize a good outfit when I see one but that doesn't mean that I would look good in it. I do not have the ideal body type for the style of clothing that is popular right now and I think I am better off simplifying my style, rather than trying to look totally, freaking awesome, hip, and trendy like everyone else by wearing those clothes. So what if my clothes are simple? I would be more than willing to let Stacy and Clinton of "What Not to Wear" come and trash my wardrobe if it meant them helping me find a whole new one worth $5,000. So there it is. If you think my clothes suck, do something about it and contact the show. But I don't think you'll see them finding me outrageous clothing. I think it would actually be more along the lines of simple.

Halo

What happened to the good old days of Nintendo 64? I've said for the longest time that I don't want to marry someone who plays Nintendo all the time, if even at all. I'm starting to realize that it is going to be nearly impossible to find a guy who fits that criteria. Looks like I'm bound to be a spinster after all! But seriously, what is the deal with boys and the Nintendo these days? Especially that ridiculous game Halo? I will never understand the need to take off a day of work or school to stay home and play a game for 10+ hours. That has to be the biggest waste of time known to mankind. I could probably handle a guy who liked to get out the old N64 and play a good game of Mario Kart or Mario Party, at the least to appease me and my longing for the good old days, but does he even exist in this world of nerd Halo and Madden 2007 players? Doubtful. I'm probably better off just buying myself a dog to keep me company for the rest of my life.

Blog Makeover

My blog has been in desperate need of a make over for a while now. I've spent the last hour and a half trying to figure out how to get it to work and right when I was about to give up and go to bed, I figured it out. I'm not sure how I like it but I'm too tired to play around with it right now. I'll probably be switching it up until I find something I really like but for now, this will have to do. As for me, I'm going to bed. Good night!

Yes Ma'am, Friday Night Lights is FANTASTIC!!

Why does nobody watch this show? It is so fantastic. After finishing the DVD's in about 4 days, it has quickly moved up to my number 2 show right now. Coming in a close second to The Office. It's that good. And they are completely different shows. Last year when all the fall shows were about to start, I kept seeing promo's for this show and thought it looked good and I fully planned on watching it. I read all over the place that it was supposed to be so great and so I got excited. For some reason though, the night it premiered I only got to see part of the episode. Then school started and I had all these other shows I was watching and I never got into it. Over Thanksgiving break there was some mini marathon on and I watched a few episodes. I didn't really know what was going on or who anyone was but it still pulled me in. Back to school and once again, no time to add another show. Then I moved to Key West and towards the end of the season, saw another marathon on Bravo. Loved it. Luckily we had DVR there so I was able to record the rest of the season on NBC. Then, the other day I saw it at Target for only 20 bucks! I couldn't pass that deal up and I bought it. I've spent the last 4 nights crying by myself in my room while watching.

It's just so good, arguably one of the best shows on TV right now(I'm not just saying that. I've read it other places, too!). I really think it's a show that both men and women, boys and girls can all enjoy. There's football, love triangles, good-looking people, storylines about serious issues, great acting(mostly), and the character development is great. You really do care about each character and they just seem so real. If anyone just gave it a chance, I honestly don't know how they wouldn't like it. NBC is even offering a money back guarantee if you buy the DVD season and don't like it. It really isn't necessary though because if you watch it, you will like it. I'd dare say it's in my top 3 or 4 seasons of any show of all time. I couldn't even wait until October 5th when the second season premieres to watch it. I had to watch it on Yahoo last night. Of course I loved it. I'm pretty much obsessed with this show right now, if ya couldn't tell. It has even made me want to move to Texas for a minute. But then I quickly snap back to reality after I remember the heat down there. Maybe I could at least find myself a hot Texan boyfriend who say's "Yes Ma'am" and "Yes Sir" and is totally adorable like Matt Saracen. It just sucks because there's a good chance it could get cancelled this season and I will be totally upset. So go out and buy the DVD, borrow mine, or watch it online! You will love it. Then you can start watching it this fall on Friday's 9/8c.

I Don't Want to Miss a Thing

You know when you smell a certain scent and it reminds you of something? Or when you hear a song and you immediately think of another time when you heard it? I don't know what this is called or if it even has an official name(I know the scent thing was brought up in an Alias episode though), but it happens to me all the time. I love it. Well, most of the time. I love it when it reminds me of something good. Not so much when it reminds me of a bad thing that happened or of someone I really don't like. For example, I love the lotion from Victoria's Secret called Sweet Temptation because it takes me right back to a trip I took to Washington D.C. when I was a sophmore in high school. It was one of the best trips I've ever been on. I also happen to enjoy the faint smell of smoke because it makes me think of all the great times I've had on trips to Vegas or even Disneyland. I don't really know why it reminds me of Disneyland because I'm pretty sure smoking is not allowed inside the park but I know there is a place right by the Pirates of the Caribbean ride where people are allowed to smoke. Maybe I think of walking by this place. I haven't really been able to decipher yet how I feel about Aqua Di Gio cologne because on the one hand, I do think it's one of the best smelling men's cologne. But on the other hand, it reminds me of an ex-boyfriend who used it. Needless to say things with him didn't end too well so it's not such a good reminder. There is also this other smell that I find quite hard to describe. The only thing that comes to my mind to describe it is that it's a mixture of urine, b.o., alcohol, vomit, garbage, cigar smoke, and bad cologne. It is such a terrible smell. It's not so much that this smell reminds me of a bad time or thing, but it reminds me of every other time I've smelled that terrible smell. It is precisely what Duval Street in Key West smelled like every day. Luckily, I haven't smelled it since coming back to Utah.

I find that music brings up more good memories for me than bad ones. I love listening to music and so I love associating it with great times that I've had. For some reason, when I listen to Norah Jones, it makes me want to take a trip to NYC. Certain Coldplay songs make me think of Vegas. "How to Save a Life" by The Fray makes me think of when I took a random trip to Chicago. "Chasing Cars" makes me think of the times when Grey's Anatomy was at it's best. There are multiple songs that make me think of So You Think You Can Dance and how much time I've spent watching that show(and how it was so worth it because it's FANTASTIC!).

The reason I bring all this up is because this morning I had my Ipod on shuffle as I drove to work. Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" came on and rather than quickly changing it, like I usually do, I decided to listen to it. All these memories of when I was 12 and 13 flowed into my mind. I then thought of how different my life is now than it was then. Not that it shouldn't be, that was 9 years ago, but I thought of how life was so easy back then. I breezed by all my school work. I had a ton of friends. Heck, even a boy liked me! I didn't have to worry about money or getting a new job. I didn't think about my weight every single day. I didn't have acne, I dont' even have acne now, but I recently had a little break out and I got semi-depressed about that this morning. I was oblivious to anything wrong that was going on in the world. Even more, I was oblivious to any problems that were going on in my family. Something that has changed and will forever been different. My biggest worries back then were about how I was going to convert Justin Timberlake to the church in time for him to be able to go on a mission so that when he got back, we could get married in the temple. Now I'm more worried about the fact that I might not get married at all. How different life was for me back then. When did I grow up and have all these responsibilities and worries thrust upon me? But the truth is, I know I brought them all upon myself. And that, my friends, is what sucks the most about it all. I know I've got to make a thousand changes in my life if I want to be completely happy. And the first one is instead of saying I need to change, I need to do something about it, starting yesterday.

Long time, no blog.

It's been a long time since I last blogged. Let me fill you in on everything that has gone on in the last 8 months of my life.

- I lived in Key West for 5 months and spent a majority of my time there demonstrating color-changing t-shirts.
- I had a boyfriend while I was there and we haven't officially broken up yet but I'm still back to wishing I had one. And fortunately the quote in White Chicks is wrong, once you go black, you really don't need a wheelchair.
- I moved back to Utah to where I had no job and all my friends had boyfriends. It still sucks.
- After a month of babysitting, going to the pool, and taking a vacation to Louisiana, I had a rockin' tan and was finally able to get a job. Not that the tan had anything to do with my employment status though. Unfortunately, I'm not too fond of the job. I don't work enough and I don't make enough money. But, about 10 minutes ago I was just offered a raise.
- I turned 21 but have yet to fully take advantage of the legalness of my age.
- I think I've gained a few pounds and it's completely depressing.
- Summer has been a complete bore. I spend most of my time reading and re-reading books, all while waiting for my only show of the summer(SYTYCD) to come on every week.
- When I got back from Florida I decided not to go back to BYU and I start school in 2 weeks at UVSC. I'm actually a little excited for it.

Besides all that, I think I'm pretty much the same. I still enjoy all the celebrity gossip I can get- I'm happy that David and Victoria Beckham moved to the U.S. so I can see more of him. I'm in love with Jim Halpert more than ever and would probably have to change my whole list that I created last year to include him on it. I think Britney Spears has gone completely insane. Lindsay Lohan is basically a waste of space but I still hope she can get better(at the rehab center located 30 minutes from my house!). And over the past month or so I have somehow formed a crush on Zac Efron, especially as Link Larkin in Hairspray. I don't like to admit it though because then I feel like a cradle-robber.

I don't know what else there is that has happened in the last 8 months that is significant enough to write about(as if my opinion on celebrities is a significant subject matter). I should've blogged while I was in Key West because there were some interesting things that happened but it's too late for that. Maybe one day I'll dedicate a whole entry to my Key West experience. Anyway, I thought maybe I should write to say that I am alive and hopefully I will continue to blog as much as I did before. We'll see though!

Once a white trash whore, always a white trash whore?

What is wrong with Britney Spears?? I was all for a comeback but seriously, is hanging out with the likes of Paris and Lindsay going to help? Probably not. And where the heck are her kids while she's out partying every night?

The Swiss Nemesis

I don't know many people from Switzerland. But the one person I do know that is from there, I don't like. Roger Federer. Do I even have a good reason not to like him? No. But I can't help it. I just don't like him. Being an Andy Roddick fan, I obviously can't stand how he wins everything. But what makes his winning even worse is the way he acts. Are we actually supposed to believe that he is really that shocked to be winning yet ANOTHER grand slam? For example, when he won the US Open this year he fell to the ground like his life had just been spared and he was just grateful to be alive. Save it, Rog. Don't pretend like you weren't expecting to win the whole tournament from day one. Seriously. We don't want to see it. It's just as boring for us to watch you win again as it is for you to go throughout the tournament slaughtering everyone you play. Am I the only one who thinks that competition in sports is what makes them exciting and fun? Well, with Roger Federer dominating everyone he played, tennis lost that level of competition for a while and it really wasn't all that fun to watch. This is why I couldn't be more happy to say-
PEOPLE, ANDY IS BACK!!!

I even say this on the wake of Andy losing another match to Federer at the Masters Cup in Shanghai. And by wake, I mean sleep because the match was on at 4 o'clock in the morning. As much as I love Andy, I might even love my sleep more, so I didn't wake up to watch it. I did, however, use the restroom at about 4:30 and, while I was up, turned on the tv to see what the score was. I was pleasantly suprised to see that Andy was up a break in the first set, 4-2. I watched until the end of that set, which Andy won 6-4, and then went back to bed. I then had about 3 different dreams about the match. In one of them Andy sprained his ankle again and had to forfeit the rest of the match, giving Federer the win. In another one, Andy won in a tie break. I can't remember the other. Finally, when I woke up for good, I got on the computer to see what had actually happened. Both fortunately and unfortunately, none of my dreams came true. Andy didn't win but luckily he hadn't sprained his ankle either. Andy probably should have won the match. He had 3 freaking match points in the 2nd set! But Roger Federer is still Roger Federer and of course had to come back to win. I didn't watch the match so I'm not really sure if Federer was having a bad day or what, but I'm going to assume that he was not, since that rarely ever happens with him. From what I saw and what I read about the match, Andy played really well. This makes me so happy because it means that he really is back, that his little stint in the US Open final this year was not a fluke, like some people thought. He really has improved that much since hiring Jimmy Conners as a coach. It means that there is finally competition back in the game of tennis which is very exciting. It means that it no longer sucks to be an Andy fan. It almost has me wishing I was this tennis racket.

"I baked you some cookies. Let's get married now."

It's weird that it's almost been a whole month since I last posted. It doesn't feel that long. I've been meaning to post about my tennis boyfriend, Andy Roddick, and the US Open but just haven't gotten around to it yet. Right now though, there's something else on my mind that I've decided to write about instead.

Growing up, I never wanted to go to school at BYU. I don't know where I wanted to go to college but it wasn't BYU. I mean, I guess deep down inside of me I thought I might end up there because both of my parents went to BYU, but it just wasn't something I ever really thought about. Somehow, I ended up choosing to go there as well. This is my 3rd year at BYU and I'll be honest, going to school here can be pretty annoying sometimes, but not really because of the school or the education I am attempting to gain. It's more because of the social "norms" that we are supposed to believe are actually normal. I've never been able to get into all of that stuff and it's only gotten worse as time has passed. Does that mean there is something wrong with me? Is there something wrong with me because I don't want to take cookies to some boys apartment who I know really don't care about the people bringing them the cookies but just care that they brought a plate of cookies with them? There shouldn't be anything wrong with that. But that's not what I've been practically brainwashed into thinking. I'm sorry but that's not how I want to meet my future husband. It would give him a false impression of me anyway because I don't cook. Is taking cookies to a boy, and other ways similar to that, the only way I am going to be able to meet a decent guy? If so, then there is NO hope for me.

I'm not going to deny the fact that a lot of what has contributed to my anti-socialness is my lack of self-confidence. It has gone down the drain in recent years and at this point, I just know that going out isn't going to make me feel better. So instead, I choose to stay at home. I'd rather sit my house/apartment and read or watch tv then go out and know that I'm going to come home feeling worse than I did before I left. I can't help it that I think like that. I don't know what it is exactly that I'm trying to say. Right now, I'm just typing. I've just gotten really frustrated with some of the people at BYU and the way that going here has made me feel about myself. I'm not blaming my lack of self-confidence on BYU. It's my fault that I feel the way that I do, I know that, but going here has not helped. At one point, I actually thought that I might be able to find someone here at BYU that I would want to spend my life with. But now, that just isn't looking like it's going to happen. Not to mention that any faith I had left in men and marriage, which was very small anyway, is now gone after seeing "The Last Kiss" last night. Thank you Zach Braff and co. I really just wish that I could somehow see into the future and know that everything was going to work out. That I could somehow know that the fact that I don't take cookies to guys or go and visit them on a daily basis won't actually make that much of a difference in my life. Obviously that can't happen. So I'm going to continue to live my life as a BYU student and hope for the best. That's pretty much all I can do.

Andy Roddick? Yes, please.

So it's a Saturday night and I'm sitting at home. I guess I should probably be hanging out with friends but no one ever calls me. And when they do it seems like I never see that they have called until I am getting into bed. Maybe I'm just meant to be a loser, who knows. Anyway, rather than hanging out the past few nights I've been enjoying a few Andy Roddick tennis matches on TV. I had forgotten how much I loved him until watching him play again. I mean, I've always loved him because lets face it, he's a hottie, but I had forgotten how much I love to watch him play tennis. It seems as though he may be getting out of the slump he has been in for about a year or so. I'm crossing my fingers. He's reached the finals in the tournament that he's currently playing in and I'm looking forward to watching his match tomorrow. I may even have to skip out on Relief Society to watch it, but like skipping Relief Society would be anything new.

I recently found out he has been dating Maria Sharapova. Apparently it's one of the "worst kept dating secrets since Brad and Angelina". Wait, Sharapova's not pregnant is she? Well, their coupledom was news to me. I guess they were keeping it a secret because of her age. Which really doesn't make any sense to me because it's not like she was under 18. She's 19 now so if they've been dating for a year, she'd still have been legal. I don't know why but I don't like them together. For some reason I'm not a big fan of Sharapova's. I don't like the way she screams out every time her racket touches the ball and she's not cute enough for Andy. I liked it better when he was dating Mandy Moore. And come to think of it, it was when he was dating her that he was playing some of his best tennis. That's when he won the US Open. He should really think about getting back with her.

Tonight I ventured onto Andy Roddick's website and came across his blog. Here is the link if you ever joy to visit:
  • Andy's Blog

  • Sorry, I don't know how to incorporate the link right into my paragraph. Anyway, I don't know if he actually writes it or if someone else does it for him. Regardless, I'm just going to think that he writes it himself because it only makes me love him more. As you can see, I enjoy athletes. I think it's apparent who my two favorites are but just in case you don't know, it's Andy Roddick and David Beckham. I just want to make it clear that it's not only because of their looks that I like them. I enjoy their talent as well. Notice that I said not only their looks because trust me, I definitely enjoy those. But now that I've seen Becks play live, I need to see Andy Roddick play live as well. Looks like I'll just have to make a trip out to Wimbledon next year. Maybe I'll run into Posh and Becks while I'm out there. Now who wants to pay for my plane ticket?

    The Beckham Experience

To preface this post I just want to say that I am mostly writing it for myself and it will probably be long. I am not very good at keeping a journal these days but this weekend is one that I definitely need to record.

Last night I was able to go to the Real Madrid vs. Real Salt Lake soccer game in SLC and let me tell you, it was great. But I will get to the game later. Friday is where the fun for me began. As you can see in my last post, I was well aware of David Beckham's presence in Utah this week. I had heard of many different times that he had signed autographs and taken pictures with fans. The sad part was that I didn't hear about them until AFTER they had already taken place. I was determined to see Beckham as up close as possible but after hearing about all these missed opportunities, I wasn't exactly sure how I was going to do that. Then I heard about the Real Madrid practice that was open to the public on Friday morning. Clearly, I wanted to go, but unfortunately I had to work. Plus, I had no one to go with. Thursday night I was talking to my dad about it when he told me that he and my two younger brothers, Tyler and Carson, were planning on going. It wasn't too difficult of a decision for me and I quickly decided I would call in sick to work and go to the practice.

I was a little late meeting my dad and brothers at the practice but they had already gotten some pretty good seats. We were about 10 rows up in the middle of the stadium. I would say that there were probably a few thousand people there. It was ridiculously hot outside and I immediately regretted getting ready because it meant that I would need to shower again when I got home. We sat there for about an hour and a half just watching Real Madrid practice. Well, I guess I should clarify and say that I was mostly just watching Beckham. Luckily, I brought my camera and took a good amount of pictures. I strongly feel that you can never have too many pictures of the most attractive soccer player ever. It was fun being able to watch one of the best soccer teams in the world practice. I was already looking forward to watching them in the game, but to be able to see them practice too was just an added bonus. We heard that Real Madrid was doing an autograph signing after the practice but were dissappointed to find out that you had to pay 200 bucks to get in and it was already sold out. I love David Beckham and everything, but I'm a college student and although I'd be willing to pay money to see him, I don't know about 200 bucks. I was just going to have to take my chances on my amateur stalking skills which I was hoping to put into play on Saturday. Instead of leaving right after the practice ended we decided to stick around, along with plenty of other people, and cross our fingers hoping some of the players would come out and sign autographs for us fans. They did not dissappoint. As soon as the first player walked toward us Tyler, Carson and I wiggled our way to the very front row. I didn't have anything for them to sign, nor was I too interested in getting anyone except Beckham's autograph, so I just took some pictures. Fabio Cannavaro, who I loved when he played for Italy in the World Cup, came out and started signing autographs. Both of my brothers were lucky enough to get his autograph. Then some other players who I didn't know came out. Finally, Beckham came out and walked directly toward where we were standing. Tyler, who was towering over some poor girl in front of him, leaned forward even more and Beckham signed both his ball and his new Real Madrid soccer jersey. I couldn't get very many pictures because everyone around me was freaking out. I was still excited for my brother though. I turned around to tell my dad and he said, "Why don't you have him sign your phone or something?" I thought, Dad, you're a genious! So my dad threw me my cell phone and I quickly walked down to where Beckham was headed. He was nice enough to walk down the entire front row signing autograph after autograph. I found where he was and shoved myself in between two smelly old men who had removed their shirts for him to sign. When Beckham reached where we were standing I held my phone down near his hand hoping he would sign it next. He skipped over it at first but then came back, took it in his hand, and signed "D Beckham" on the back. This is a picture I found on a local newspaper's website and laughed when I saw myself in the background. I was very excited to get this autograph. I thought I'd be content with just getting pictures of him up close, which I did get plenty of, but now I am glad that I was also able to get his autograph. It made skipping work and sweating bullets to see him totally worth it in the end. I'd do it all over again if I could.

On Saturday, McKensie and I decided to make a day trip to Salt Lake before the game. We originally planned on going shopping and to dinner before the game but that plan changed when we decided to eat dinner at Little America. Little America just so happens to be across the street from the Grand America Hotel, where Real Madrid was staying(input amateur stalking skills). Right after we were finished eating McKensie looked outside the window and noticed that the team's bus was in front of the hotel and there were already some fans gathered outside waiting for them. She freaked out a bit in the restaurant because she was so excited. I was a little embarrassed, as was she after she realized what she had done, but we both hurried across the street to join in the waiting for the team. We waited for about 45 minutes until the team finally started walking out, one by one, to the bus. As soon as the first player, my Italian love Fabio Cannavaro, came out everyone rushed towards the bus. There was a police man guarding us from getting too close but we were still about 2 feet away from the players. Beckham came out alot sooner than I had expected him to. McKensie and I both let out a little scream when we saw him and I quickly took some pictures. He looked right at McKensie and me and smiled that beautiful smile of his. It was so great.

The game started at 7:30 and after waiting in the most HORRIBLE traffic to park we walked as fast as we could to the stadium. We didn't want to miss the kick off or anything else for that matter. Beckham didn't start but that didn't make the first half of the game any less exciting. There was some great soccer being played in that first half and it was so awesome just to be there. I honestly didn't care who touched the ball or who scored, it was just fun to watch. The score at the half was 1-0 for Real Madrid. They scored on a penalty kick right before the half ended. During halftime Real Madrid came from the locker room and started warming up for the second half. David Beckham was one of the players warming up and out came the cameras. It was amazing to look around and see all the flashing cameras, mine included. David Beckham started the second half and played until the end of the game. He didn't do anything amazing but it was hard for me to take my eyes off of him. I know that he's not the best player on the field, or pitch I guess I should say, but I found myself just waiting for him to get the ball. When he did the flashes went off and the girls screamed. What was so great is that he's the only one who has bright blue cleats on so it was easy to spot him from a distance. He was able to get a few shots off but unfortunately none of them went in. Although I was cheering for the home team, it would have been awesome to see him score. He had a great opportunity when RSL committed a foul right outside the 18 yard line. Free kicks being Beckham's specialty I could see everyone around me getting ready to take a picture. There were thousands of flashes when he kicked that ball but unfortunately it didn't "bend" enough and it knocked off the wall built by the RSL players. Real Madrid scored again leaving the final score at 2-0. I was pleasantly surprised because I fully expected Real Salt Lake to get blown out. All in all, it was a very good game and well worth the money for the ticket. When the game ended everyone cheered and the players on the field clapped their hands thanking the fans. Beckham clapped towards every side of the stadium and received monstrous cheers from the fans left in the stands. I kept waiting for him to remove his jersey and trade it with one of the RSL players but was a bit dissappointed when he only removed it about 5 seconds before entering the locker room. As soon as he did, I heard girls screaming everywhere which is totally understandable. I later found out that he gave his jersey to Tom Cruise who was in attendance at the game with Katie Holmes. I'm just going to forget that I even heard that.

Real Salt Lake announced yesterday that they are going to be building a stadium for the team in Sandy. I'm excited because that means they are staying in Utah. Dave Checketts has already invited Real Madrid to come to the opening of the new stadium in 2008. If that week turns out to be anything like this week, I think it's clear that soccer fans in Utah have a lot to look forward to. I read an article in the newspaper where David Beckham, who has said that he would like to play in the MLS someday, said of the possiblity of playing for Real Salt Lake, "It's possible. You never know what happens in the future. No one can tell what's going to happen in any footballer's future. But we'll see." A girl can dream, can't she?

    I Know She Can Dance

I'm a little upset today. Actually, I'm really upset. Last night on SYTYCD, my favorite dancer was eliminated. Now, I wouldn't be so upset if Allison had actually deserved to be eliminated. But I think it is clear, and not only to me, that Allison was the best girl dancer, if not the best dancer period on the whole show. How America didn't see that is a mystery to me. Actually, I think most of America did see that. They just didn't vote becaue they figured that she would make it to the end and so they voted for those who they thought needed it more. Big fat mistake people! Vote for your favorite dancer and they will stay! It's not a hard concept to grasp. I voted over 400 times for Allison but it obviously didn't help. It seriously boggles my mind that people actually voted for Heidi, Natalie and friggin' Donyelle more than they voted for Allison. Hello people!! Donyelle sucks. She is not nearly as good as Allison. The only reason she has looked good up until now is because Benji was her partner. And Benji's so good he could make my dog look like she's a good dancer. What do I have to look forward to watching now? Natalie crying? Nope, seen that plenty of times before. Heidi's scandalous outfits? Nope, don't care to see that. Donyelle dancing at all? H to the no. Especially because it should be her A sitting in the audience watching and not Allison's. Allison was the only dancer I actually looked forward to watching, she was THAT good. If Benji or Travis don't win and it's one of those girls, I'm writing the show off for good.

    Praise the Heavens

The title to this post is very appropriate. First of all, I just want to say that I am so glad that America was smart and didn't vote for Dmitry on my new favorite reality TV show. Yes, that is right everyone, So You Think You Can Dance is my favorite summer show. For the record, I think Allison should win. And I'm not just saying that because she is a local and went to my same junior high. I think she is the best dancer on the show. But then again, what do I know about dancing? I also love Benji because he is hysterical. They are the only ones who ever get my votes.

Secondly, if you haven't noticed already, I have changed the URL to my blog. It is now so-this-is-my-blog.blogspot.com. Original, I know. I was just sick of having my first and last name as the URL.

And finally, I have yet to post about how the Soccer Sex God himself,(Kristine thought of that one) David Beckham is coming to Salt Lake City in 23 days and I get to see him in person. HELLO!! It is not certain whether he will play or not but do I really care? Well, maybe a little, but I mostly just want to see his beautiful face. I found out today that he is scheduled to participate in an autograph signing session before the game. You can bet your you know what that I will be there! McKensie and I are very excited, to say the least. It is going to be a blast!

Well, that is all for now. I am going to go to bed now so I can wake up and look hot for the beautiful inter-office mail delivery person who comes into my office each day. He WILL love me someday. Peace.

    My List

I do not want to be at work any longer. It is 3:30 and I am ready to go home. Time to write another blog.

I came across another person's blog and the entry was about 10 characters in television and movies that they would "do". I, being the good Mormon girl that I am, obviously wouldn't "do" them. Deciding to define "do" in another way, I started thinking of who I would choose.

This is what I've come up with:
Honorable Mention: Noel Crane from Felicity(when he has cute hair) and Rusty Ryan from Oceans 11(I had to add Brad Pitt in there somewhere).

    10. Ben Barry from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Matthew McConaughey has got a rockin' bod, there's no denying that.

    9. Sawyer from Lost. I can't help but think the bad guy is sexy. And he also has a rockin' bod.

    8. Paul Walker's character on Into the Blue. Okay, I don't even know his name but that is not a requirement. All I remember from that movie is that he looked GOOD.

    7. Tony from 24. Oh how I miss Tony. Who doesn't want to, ahem, "do" a hero?

    6. Will Tippin from Alias. I loved him. I almost wanted him to hook up with Sidney instead of Vaughn. Almost. But who doesn't want a hot best friend, with added benefits, like him?

    5. Dr. McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy. Okay, nobody can deny the fact that he really is a dreamboat.

    4. Jason Bourne from the Bourne Identity. I only needed to see one scene in that movie to make me want to rock that bod.

    3. Jack from Lost. He used to be my number 4 but after having recently watched Party of Five, Matthew Fox is really starting to grow on me. And when he is Jack, he is just plain sexy.

    2. Ben Covington from Felicity. As big of a jerk as he can be, I still love him. I don't know what it is about him that makes me love him as much as I do, I just do. And I always will.

    1. Michael Vaughn in Alias. I didn't know it was possible for me to love Michael Vartan any more than I did in Never Been Kissed. But then I saw Alias. Do I really need to explain more? I didn't think so.

There is my list of characters I would "do". You can choose to define "do" however you joy and I will define it however I joy.

I must add that if athletes were a part of this list then I would have to add Andy Roddick and David Beckham to it. I'm not sure but I think I might make Andy my number one and David my number 4 behind Ben. I love Andy and I seriously think that I could look at David Beckham all day.

    That is all.

    Happy Birthday

Tomorrow I will be 20. That is halfway to 40. 40 is halfway to 80 which is practically dead. Okay, that's a little extreme. It's just a little weird thinking that my teenage years will be over in less than 12 hours. I'm so old.

    American Idol: Boy Band Edition

I must admit that I used to be an avid boy band fan back in the day. Nsync, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, you name it. I was a fan. Let's be honest though, 98 Degrees never achieved the fame that the Backstreet Boys or Nsync did. Therefore, I wasn't as big of fan of them as I was BSB and Nsync. Out of those two groups, it was always a toss up as to who I liked more. I went through phases and at times liked BSB more. Other times, I was thoroughly obsessed with Nsync. I've been to 3
Backstreet Boys concerts and one Nsync concert over the course of my life and I enjoyed every single one of them. I used to have posters covering the walls of my room and I recorded every appearance they had on TV. Yes, I was a huge fan, but I wasn't one of those girls who you always saw crying at their concerts or anything like that. I wasn't that extreme.

The reason I am writing about this was because having listened to practically every song on my iPod while at work, I decided I'd listen to the good old boy bands. I listened to all of them. I started thinking about how talented they really were and if they were even talented at all. I wondered what would happen if each member was on American Idol, singing solos. Who would win? Here is what I think would happen:

Out of the 3 groups there are 14 members- 98 Degrees: Jeff, Justin, Nick, and Drew. Nsync: Justin, Joey, JC, Chris, and Lance. BSB: Brian, AJ, Nick, Howie, and Kevin.

Chris from Nsync would get laughed at and his audition would be replayed for weeks. Definitely not in the top ten. I also think that neither Kevin, Justin from 98 Degrees(is he the ugly bald one? I think so, but that might be Jeff. We'll just pretend like it's Justin. Those of you who know the group, know who I'm talking about) or Joey would make it to the top ten.

So the top ten would be Jeff, Nick L., Drew, Justin, JC, Lance, Brian, AJ, Nick, and Howie.

    In the first round
I think that Howie would get kicked off. Although, he does represent the only bit of diversity on this version of AI. Regardless, I think he would be gone. He doesn't have the looks and his voice is too high.

Second round: Lance would be kicked off. His voice is too deep and I don't think he has the range to make it as a solo artist. Plus, he's just goofy looking.

Third Round: I'm going to say that Jeff from 98 Degrees would be booted this round. I don't really know what he sounds like when singing alone so this is really just based on what I know about the other members of the competition.

Fourth Round: Drew would be knocked out of the competition. See reason for Jeff.

Fifth Round: I know a lot of girls like Nick Carter but he just doesn't do it for me. And his voice definitely doesn't do it for me. He tried it as a solo artist once and it didn't work out for him. So although some might be sad to see him go, it's definitely his turn.

Sixth Round: JC would be kicked off. I was always a big fan of his. He has a good voice, I just don't think he would accumulate enough votes to move past this round.

Seventh Round: AJ would be next to go. He has a really good voice and he has a different look than the rest. He would be like the "bad boy" of the competition.

Eighth Round: Sadly enough, I would say that Nick Lachey would be booted next. He's good, but I just don't think he's as good as the other two remaining. Albeit, he's definitely got the looks and the body. Any girl would take what's left of him.

The finale: Brian and Justin are left. This would be a very difficult decision. Brian has an amazing voice, there's no denying that, but Justin can sing as well. If it were based on looks alone, then Justin would win. Only if he looked like he does now, and not like he did when he was a member of Nsync. But if I had to decide based just on singing abilities, then Brian would take it. But America decides and it's not always just based on talent. A lot of things play into their decision- who is more likeable, who is more attractive, who can entertain better, who is most consistent, etc. So, after thinking about it long and hard(not really) the winner is...drumroll please.....Justin Timberlake. Brian has a great voice but I think Justin would be the better entertainer. He's also better looking. I didn't base my decision on the fact that Justin has already made it as a solo artist. If everyone was unknown at the beginning of the show, I still think he would win. Ultimately, I'd be happy with either decision.

So there you have it. "American Idol: Boy Bands Edition".

    Superman Wears Jack Bauer Pajama's

Monday night was the season finale of 24. It was pretty much amazing. 2
hours of pure awesomeness. Finally Jack avenged the deaths of Pres.
Palmer, Tony, and Michelle like he should have a long time ago. I'm sure
I wasn't the only one who was happy to see him put a bullet in the man
that was responsible for all of their deaths. Not to mention that
Robocop was completely heinous looking. The whole episode was just
great. In my opinion, I think it was the best season finale that 24 has
ever had. They left us with a huge cliffhanger at the end and I really
don't even know what to expect for next season. Except 24 action filled
episodes, but that's pretty much a given at this point. I don't know how
I'm going to make it 7 months until it starts up in January. And it's
the first time I've really had to do it. It's going to be difficult. I
may have to pull out seasons 1-4 and watch them all again, just to get
my 24 fix each month. One thing I know is it's going to be a LONG 7
    months.

So I watched the first season of Lost last week. I was really surprised
at how much I liked it. I know of one reason that I like it so much and
I can tell you it in two words. Matthew Fox. He's a dream. Very hot. Not
the same Charlie back from Party of Five. Charlie was cute but Jack
Shephard is definitely cuter. I prefer the buzz cut to the long shaggy
hair. And I especially prefer the shorts, suits, and baggy jeans to the
practically painted on jeans of the early 90's. He is one of those who
has just gotten better with age.

Speaking of both 24 and Lost, someone once said to me or I read it
somewhere that Jack Bauer could get off the Lost island in 24 hours. I
found this to be hysterical and truly believable. Of course he could.
It's freaking Jack Bauer. He's amazing. Before I saw this I had actually
thought about it. I thought that when Lost is ready to end they should
do a crossover season with 24. Let Jack(Bauer), with the help of
Jack(Shephard), save everyone from that stupid island. I don't know how
they could do it but I'm sure the writers could figure something out.
It'd be great. People would be dying left and right(because that's what
happens when Jack Bauer is around)but of course, at least one of the
Jack's would survive, hopefully both. Okay, maybe it's a stupid idea but
you know that everyone would tune into that show. I know I would. My
bestest roommate Kristine, who I miss tremendously, asked me which Jack
I like better. Jack Bauer or Jack Shephard. The answer is clear. Who do
I want as my husband? Jack Shephard. Who do I want to be there to save
my life? Definitely Jack Bauer. And then of course, Dr. McDreamy would
be there to perform any emergency surgery that I needed. What a life.

    My Blog Sucks

I've come to accept the fact that I don't have anything interesting to
talk about on this blog. All I have really talked about so far are things pertaining to the entertainment industry. Until something exciting
starts happening in my life, which I really don't see happening any time in
the near future, I will probably continue to only blog about stupid
things such as celebrities, tv shows, and movies. I've accepted it and
if you don't like it, I'm sorry.

New mission impossible: Shut celebs up

    By Chris Hicks
    Deseret Morning News

Does anyone remember when summer movies actually started in summer?
OK, they probably never waited until June 21, but for many years the summer-movie season began on Memorial Day weekend — at the end of May.
Here it is May 5, and already we have "Mission: Impossible III," a major-studio, big-budget action epic, which officially kicks off this summer's movie season.
By the time it really is summer, the season will be nearly over (discounting August, a dumping ground for leftover bad movies).
If they start coming any earlier, we won't be able to tell summer movies from Christmas movies.
Still, "M:I III" looks pretty hot.
Even though I had some problems with the two earlier "M:I" movies, I have to admit there are several aspects to this one that I find intriguing: great-looking action and stunts, Philip Seymour Hoffman as the chief villain, a new director in J.J. Abrams, who was behind the exciting TV series "Alias" (as well as "Lost").
But this new "M:I" movie does have one big hurdle that I'm not sure I can get over: Tom Cruise.
True, he's probably the biggest of the big movie stars, and he has that killer smile and great teeth, and he certainly seems game for anything on the action front.
    But he's still Tom Cruise.
I've just seen too much of him over the past year or so, I guess. I know too much about him.
I want to go to "M:I III" and see agent Ethan Hunt, not Tom Cruise.
Not that zany guy jumping on Oprah's couch, the one who had a baby with his 16-years-younger girlfriend Katie Holmes (in a secret Scientology kind of way), then named the kid "Suri" (did she have a fringe on top?) and now talks about getting married somewhere down the road; late summer, early fall; when the kid goes to college (Suri, not Katie).
Hey, call me old-fashioned . . . and I'm sure some of you will (among other, perhaps unprintable, names) . . . but there are certain things, 21st century or not, that just ain't right.
I think I liked it better when we didn't know nearly so much about actors we see in the movies.
These days it's impossible to avoid celebrities' personal lives screaming at us from People magazine and its many weekly clones, and "Entertainment Tonight" and its many nightly clones.
And it's not just A-list celebs — and not even just B-, C- and D-list celebs. It now extends to the correspondents and hosts of the "E.T." shows, who treat each other like celebrities. (Z-list celebs?)
And how about all the talk shows and magazine shows and late-night shows and awards shows, and all the other avenues of exposure that compete for stars?
Cruise may be the most overexposed star of the moment, but he certainly isn't alone.
How about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (and, by extension, Jennifer Aniston)?
Will I ever be able to take Jolie or Pitt seriously in a movie again?
Or Gwyneth Paltrow? She really named one of her kids Apple?
Or such other overexposed "stars" as Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachy, and Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards, and Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. . . .
Oh wait, different category; no one takes them seriously.
Maybe we should petition for a National Celebrity Shut-up Day.
Hey, if they thought it would get them some attention, they just might do it.

I couldn't agree more. National Celebrity Shut-up Day. Fabulous idea. Though I was able to look past Tom Cruise being Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 3 last night and thoroughly enjoy myself. Great job J.J. But I truly wish the likes of TomKat and Brangelina would just GO AWAY!! And why not just make a national holiday out of it?
